Asylum Documents in the UK

Asylum documents are critical for individuals seeking protection and legal status in a new country. In the UK, asylum seekers must provide a range of documents to support their claims, including personal statements, identification papers, and evidence of persecution. For those whose primary language is Chinese, accurate and certified translation of these documents is essential. Proper translation ensures that the asylum claims are fully understood by the authorities and that all supporting evidence is presented clearly and effectively.

The process of translating asylum documents involves more than just converting text from one language to another. It requires a thorough understanding of both the content and the context in which the documents will be used. Accurate translation is crucial to convey the details of the asylum seeker’s situation, including the nature of their persecution and their reasons for seeking refuge. Certified translations provide an additional layer of assurance, confirming that the translations are faithful to the original documents and meet the standards required by UK immigration authorities. This certification helps prevent any potential delays or complications in the asylum process.

Our translation services specialize in providing certified translations for asylum documents from English to Chinese and Chinese to English. We recognize the importance of handling these sensitive documents with care and precision. Our team of experienced translators is well-versed in legal and immigration terminology, ensuring that each document is accurately translated and adheres to the required standards. In addition to asylum documents, we offer a range of translation services for other legal and personal documents that may be required during the asylum process. Whether it’s translating medical records, affidavits, or legal correspondence, our goal is to provide accurate and reliable translations that facilitate a smoother and more effective asylum application process. FAQs

According to GOV.UK, your document must be certified by a professional or a person well-respected in your community (‘of good standing’). The person you ask should not be:
– Related to you
– Living at the same address
– In a relationship with you

In practice, UK authorities tend to recognize documents certified by authoritative translators, which can reduce the risk of rejection and save you time. You can minimize errors, omissions, or rejection by using a translator or translation company affiliated with a recognized professional body, such as the Association of Translation Companies (ATC), the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI), or the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL).

Yes, our translations are recognized by government bodies and institutions in both the UK and China. We ensure that our translations meet the specific requirements set by these entities, including the use of appropriate terminology and format.

We certify a wide range of documents including academic transcripts, legal contracts, business documents, technical manuals, and personal certificates such as birth, marriage, and divorce documents.

The price starts from GBP30.
Our rates vary depending on the complexity and length of the document as well as the required turnaround time. We provide a free, no-obligation quote upon reviewing your document, ensuring that you know exactly what the translation will cost before proceeding.

The number of pages for certified translations is determined by the total word count of the document. A single page is considered to be 250 words or fewer, including any numerical data.

If a page exceeds 250 words, we will adjust the calculation accordingly based on the word count. At that point, you will need to request a quote from us.

The process begins with you sending us a scan or a clear photograph of your document. We then translate the document and provide a certification statement that attests to the accuracy of the translation and the qualifications of the translator. The certified translation is then stamped with our official seal and mailed to you.

Standard turnaround begins at 24 hours for up to three pages (750 words). For faster service, expedited turnaround shortens this to 12 hours. The total time required depends on the page count of your order and is calculated during checkout.

We provide certified translations as a non-editable PDF, complete with a signed and stamped Certificate of Translation Accuracy in English. This certificate confirms the translation’s accuracy and the translator’s qualifications.

Our certified translations also:
– Are printed on A4 paper (or larger one, if necessary) featuring our contact details, including our special seals from the UK ITI, phone number, and address.
– Maintain a format similar to the source document, though not an exact replica.
– Offer word-for-word translations, adhering to certified translation standards. This means we translate precisely without interpreting the meaning of phrases.
– Do not include your original files in the same PDF unless specifically requested.

If you request a physical copy, we’ll send an unfolded version with wet ink signatures, printed on high-quality paper, in a protective cardboard envelope. Note that we do not print or ship your original documents, as you will pair the translation with them.

Absolutely! During checkout, you’ll have the opportunity to share your preferred spellings for proper nouns.
