Which hukou pages to send

Send clear scans of the booklet for a scope check, including the household cover page, required member pages, change records and any other pages with entries. Keep page order, edges and seals visible. Your application checklist determines what you submit; I do not describe missing pages as translated.

Marriage and name details

A hukou and a marriage certificate may record names, addresses or marital status at different dates. I translate each as written and preserve discrepancies rather than changing the source record. If you also need a certified Chinese marriage certificate translation, send both documents for review.

UK spouse visa translation requirements

The GOV.UK family visa evidence guide asks for certified translations of documents not in English or Welsh. GOV.UK certification guidance lists confirmation of accuracy, the translation date, and the translator’s name and contact details. I also include my signature, MITI seal and membership number. Follow the application instructions for scope and format; a translation does not guarantee a visa outcome.

Send scans from China or the UK

Send clear scans or photos, passport name spellings and the recipient’s checklist so I can confirm the page count and delivery. You do not need to post originals to obtain a translation quote. See the Chinese hukou spouse visa guide. Submit the source document and translation as your application instructs.
